![]() ![]() ![]() Besides the action, I'm not very invested in the story and some of the characters' banter. The tone and writing unfortunately this film feels and stylistically looks dull. Tim Roth also does a great job playing the character of Emil Blonsky as well.ġ. Abomination is a great villain, he is similar to Hulk and the fight like I said before is awesome. ![]() The scenes with Hulk are awesome, especially the fight scene between Hulk and Abomination is great and thrilling.ģ. The action the entire movie is pretty thrilling, he gets chased down by the SWAT and army and it is pretty thrilling. Hulk looks very menacing and awesome, though he looks nothing like Edward Norton but oh well.Ģ. His performance is solid and he does a decent job. Edward Norton is really good as Bruce Banner. The Incredible Hulk is definitely an improvement over Ang Lee's Hulk but is it a huge significant improvement? Kinda but it still has some problems but some good moments I liked. ![]()

![]() ![]() Much of the dialogue isn’t even intelligible enough for Juliet to transcribe, thanks to the recording technology of the day. But this work is day after day of talk of the weather and biscuits and pets. In most novels, something great would be revealed in these conversations. Although Juliet shows promise, she becomes a glorified secretary, transcribing conversations on the other side of the wall of a bugged London apartment, where Nazi sympathizers meet. Lying her way through her interview, for no reason other than for her own amusement, she unwittingly shows herself to have the qualities of an excellent spy. First directed to be a secretary, she is soon handpicked for MI5 work. Recently orphaned, Juliet applies to the British War Office in 1940. Her book focuses on ordinary Britons pulled into espionage and explores the usefulness, or lack thereof, of much of the information that was gathered.īased on information about real-life spies, Atkinson creates a paradoxically naïve and brazen main character, Juliet Armstrong. ![]() Quite possibly, if it sheds new light on history, as Kate Atkinson’s new novel Transcription does. Does the world need another Second World War spy novel? ![]() ![]() His ability to differentiate the characters through their various voices and accents is simply first class, and he is entirely consistent, even across books. ![]() Dan’s narration of each of the books brings the characters to life. ![]() ‘Ash’ happens to be based in the area of the UK where I was brought up, The accents are spot on, and Ash supports what used to be my local football team (lol). Despite the new characters, it’s not a stand-alone, I strongly recommend you read the first part of the series first so you can go straight into book 5. It is as dark, gritty and powerful as the earlier books, and just as painful in places - especially the cliffhanger ending. This is a prequel to book 5 in the Don’t series and introduces some new characters with their back stories. Their world can be a brutal place, but with flashes of light, humour and tough love, the relationships between them and with the other characters are carefully and skilfully created, built and moulded by the oh-so-talented author. I am in love with Gray, Jack and Jan, and my heart soars and breaks for them as their stories are revealed. It can be hard to read in parts, Jack L Pyke doesn’t gloss over gore, torture or mental and physical impacts, but the graphic nature, and the protagonist’s reactions, are what bring the characters so vividly to life. ![]() The whole Don’t series is amazing, a complex and convoluted thriller with a very dirty side (in every sense of the word). ![]() ![]() ![]() Misha Inniss-Thompson, PH.d, a black girlhood scholar and Assistant Research Professor at Cornell University's College of Human Ecology.
